Strauss Kahn - The Inside Story
The inside story on Dominique Strauss Kahn is something only he knows. And, as a good politician, he tells you only what he wants you to know, and only when it suits his purposes. Now, he wisely keeps his motuh shut. That's what high priced lawyers are for. The old time mobsters did'nt call them "mouthpieces" for nothing. Did they?
From looking at his life so far, his self professed "love" of women, his "'career path" one gets the impression that "DSK" could be descibed with Winston Chuchill's assement of the Balkans:"A mystery wrapped in an enigma." No sign of any of that being unwrapped soon. In fact, it's just going to get more complicated.
The Legal And The Real
Strauss Kahn's constant "I'm innocent" rant, though flying in the face of physical edvidence, gives him the possibility of saying "I told you so!" if, and when, he's either found guilty, a plea bargain is arranged( ie he admits no guilt but gives ms Diallo some "walking away money."), or charges are dropped. The most likely option.
While he does(theoretically) face the prospect of a civil trial on the same charges, that process could take up to two years. And if, by that time, Mr. Strauss Kahn is not enjoying the famous hospitality of one of America's more luxurious prisons(likely), and has returned to his native France, a conquering hero ("I told you so!) (likely), and if , as a result of all this he does become the next French president (very likely), he could simply refuse to respond.
An attorney General attempting extradition in that scenario would be committing political suicide. Would they not?
Bottom Line: If, by any of the above means DSK continues to walk and breath freely where and when he chooses, enjoying his truffles and cars that cost more than three factory workers yearly salaries, who could possibly rain on his parade?
DSK - The Great Seducer
That's his nickname in his native France. And, Americans, especially need to keep in mind that the French have a, shall we say, more "liberal" view of sex outside of marriage. After all, they ARE the nation that evolved the concept of the "mistress."
All this to say that DSK's charm(or smarm, depending on your point of view) can, and is applied equally to all areas of his life. And, with a billionaire Wife keeping the truffles on the table and gas in the Mercedes, no one should be counting DSK "out" of anything. Anytime soon.
